grow out of use, disuse; de + suescere to become used or
accustomed: cf. F. d['e]su['e]tude. See {Custom}.]
The cessation of use; disuse; discontinuance of practice,
custom, or fashion.

      The desuetude abrogated the law, which, before, custom
